Fossil Creek, Arizona

Fossil Creek (Falls) is an unbelievable Arizona wonder! We recommend taking the "Fossil Springs Trail No. 18" down into the canyon (4 miles) and 1600' elevation descent until you reach the falls.

Permit required from April 1 - October 1 every year but we recommend going after the October 1st deadline and hiking for free.

The trail is rated as "strenuous", however, it's not bad. Took us about 5 hours (total) to hike down, play around, and back up. We recommend finding more information here, https://www.fs.usda.gov/recarea/coconino/recarea/?recid=72066.

Parking is limited so get there as early as possible. Bathrooms located at the trailhead.
